Frequently asked questions
What benefits does joining the HOA offer?
See the benefits area of the wiki for more information about the benefits of joining the association.
Do I need to own a home to join the HOA?
Due to the unique nature and strategic vision of our HOA, membership is not contingent on purchasing a home. We embrace a broader understanding of home “ownership” than traditional HOAs. You may be invited to discuss what home ownership means to you during the membership activation sequence.
Is joining the HOA mandatory?
Certain homes may require HOA membership as a condition of legal purchase. If you are applying for membership under the terms of such a contract, mention this in your application email for further guidance on the membership activation sequence in this particular case.
How much does HOA membership cost?
Currently, the HOA does not charge membership dues, although membership may entail certain ongoing obligations such as occasional participation in board meetings, communication via email, and maintaining current contact information in the 🔒 members directory.
What is the legal status of the Acacia Valley HOA?
Currently, the HOA does not have a formal legal status. The board of directors investigated the possibility of legal incorporation, but determined that our lack of membership revenue and low-touch approach obviate the need for a corporate entity. In accordance with our strategic objective of moderated growth, the board may revisit this decision at a future date.
